Our Valor honorees at the celebration at the Hilton Ocala on June 26th

Last week, the Valor honorees and their families and friends gathered at the Hilton Ocala to be recognized in person. Bob Rose and Jay Anderson, 97.3 The Sky morning show hosts, presented each first responder with an award trophy to commemorate the occasion. Kevin Sheilley, president of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership, and Justin Grabelle, Chief of Staff for Congressman Richard Nugent, addressed the crowd and praised the honorees for their courage and dedication.

97.3 The Sky is honored to be able to recognize these outstanding individuals for the heroic acts that, for them, are nothing more than a day in the life in their profession. North Central Florida is lucky to have such courageous and capable first responders helping keep the community safe. “First responders have such a critical role in our communities and face extremely difficult and dangerous challenges every day,” said Dick O’Neil, vice president and general manager of WSKY. “Their contributions deserve this kind of recognition and much more. We are proud to honor these local heroes who protect and serve us in so many ways.”

97.3 The Sky extends its thanks to everyone who made this event possible, including sponsors Car Guys Automotive, Gatorland Toyota, Millers Boating Center, Campus USA Credit Union, Allen Farm and Lawn Equipment;  exhibiting partners Military Outlet and Mark Hurm & Co.; The Trophy Shop, who provided the Valor awards, Fracture, who provided the displays, the Hilton Ocala, who hosted the event, and Mike Shea Photography, who documented the event.
