Sergeant Aundrey Long is a 24 year veteran of the Florida Highway Patrol, currently supervising 17 Troopers within the Gainesville District.
It is the job of a patrol supervisor to ensure his officers are well-trained, equipped and focused on their tasks. Sergeant Long exemplifies this kind of supervisor, taking a personal interest in his subordinates’ welfare on the job and at home. Sergeant Long instills confidence in his Troopers by tirelessly working beside them on a daily basis. In addition to his efforts in developing and training junior Troopers, he possesses the knowledge and courage to handle any emergency situation. He is a problem solver with a servant’s heart.
Sergeant Long is a UF graduate and a former member of the track team. His desire to give back to the Gator Nation leads him to be seen on the sideline escorting the Florida Football Head Coach. He also mentors each player and makes himself available to them 24/7.
When faced with the everyday challenges and stresses of being a sergeant in the FHP, he continually finds ways to make things better for those around him and gets the hard jobs done. His friendly demeanor and infectious personality will ensure his success in every future endeavor. The Florida Highway Patrol is honored to have Sergeant Long on their team.
